Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has given updates on the fitness of striker Darwin Núñez and midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
Nunez, who has been sidelined for the past three matches due to muscle stiffness, missed key games, including the EFL Cup final against Chelsea and the FA Cup clash against Southampton. Despite his absence, he has been a significant contributor this season with 13 goals and 11 assists in 37 appearances across competitions.
On the other hand, Szoboszlai has been recovering from a hamstring injury and has been out of action, having made five goals and four assists in 28 games this season.
However, Klopp remains hopeful that both players could make a return for the upcoming Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday (March 2). According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Klopp stated:
“Darwin Núñez and Dominik Szoboszlai trained with the team yesterday. Wataru Endo and Andy Robertson didn’t — but there’s a plan they join today.”
Despite missing several key players in their recent cup matches, Liverpool managed to secure victories, including clinching their first title of the season.
