European powerhouse Bayern Munich has slapped a €70 million price tag on the sought-after Alphonso Davies, a target for Real Madrid, anticipating his departure in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to reports from Madrid Universal (via Marca), Real Madrid has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the 23-year-old Canadian for a move to Spain. With negotiations for Kylian Mbappe nearly finalized, securing Davies hinges on striking a deal with Bayern Munich, known for their firm stance in negotiations.
Alphonso Davies transitioned from the Vancouver Whitecaps to Bayern in July 2018 for a deal potentially reaching $22 million, completing the move officially in January 2019. Since then, he has been a linchpin in Bayern’s lineup, amassing 180 appearances across various competitions, contributing nine goals and 28 assists.
Despite his young age of 23, Davies has already earned 44 caps for Canada, netting 15 goals and providing 18 assists.
Real Madrid, mindful of Ferland Mendy’s age at 28, eyes Davies as a long-term solution. However, securing the Canadian phenom will require meeting Bayern’s hefty €70 million valuation.
