Detroit Pistons forward Isaiah Stewart addressed the media for the first time since his altercation with Phoenix Suns forward Drew Eubanks, expressing remorse and gratitude towards his team and the organization.
“First and foremost, I apologize to my teammates and the organization because I always strive to represent them in the best possible light,” Stewart stated. “I’m sorry to my teammates and coaches for any disruption this may have caused, especially considering the challenges we’ve faced this season.”
When asked about the altercation itself, Stewart didn’t delve into specifics but instead focused on expressing his appreciation for the support he received from his coaches and teammates during the ordeal.
“I also want to express my gratitude to them for standing by me,” Stewart said. “Their unwavering support means a lot to me, and I’m eager to move forward and leave this incident behind us.”

Acknowledging the fans and the city of Detroit for their continued support, Stewart expressed his eagerness to return to the court and contribute to the team’s success.
“I appreciate the fans and the city for sticking with me,” he said. “I’m ready to get back out there, compete, and help us win games.”
The NBA levied a three-game suspension against Stewart following the altercation, but he made a triumphant return to action on Tuesday, tallying 11 points and nine rebounds in a victory over the Chicago Bulls, ending the Pistons’ six-game losing streak.
Pistons head coach Monty Williams hailed Stewart’s return as a significant boost for the team, noting how it helped stabilize the rotation and inject energy into the squad.
“It was a huge deal for us,” Williams remarked. “I thought it settled the rotation. We got to see [Simone Fontecchio] with the second unit and just let him come in the game and just fire. Do what he does. We’re really happy about this kind of win. We want every win we can, but we’re really happy about this kind.”
Stewart, who has been a key contributor for the Pistons this season, averaging 11.0 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, will look to continue his strong play as the team prepares to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.
