Bronny James Goes Scoreless, Isaiah Collier Drops 31 as USC Upsets Washington

The USC Trojans secured a significant conference triumph against Washington last Saturday, though freshman Bronny James found himself in a limited role during the game.

With an 82-75 win, the Trojans elevated their season record to 12-17 and witnessed several standout performances. Among these was guard Isaiah Collier, who delivered an impressive 31 points while shooting 14-of-20 from the field. Additionally, forward D.J. Rodman and guard Boogie Ellis contributed 17 points each, with a combined 10 rebounds between them.

However, James remained scoreless, with just one attempted shot. Despite this, he managed to secure three rebounds and provide two assists, one of which garnered attention across social media platforms.

Despite the Trojans’ commendable victory, James’ subdued impact became a focal point in online discussions.

Michael Boston tweeted, “I’ve watched this entire Washington/USC game so far and I can say two things without any doubt… Collier on Cincinnati this year would’ve made us a tournament team. The dude is so good. And Bronny isn’t even close to an NBA player yet. But tbf most freshman aren’t…”

ᗩᑎT ᗯᖇIGᕼT commented, “Bronny is 0-1 with 3 rebounds and an assist.. that one assist is going to be on a loop all day while Collier went off for 20+.”

JamesFamilyMuse shared, “Bronny at halftime: 8 Minutes, 3 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 0/1 FG. At least he’s getting more playtime but still need way more.”

Cades Attorney added, “Bronny should transfer to Michigan, he would get hella PT over here.”

James’ current season averages stand at 5.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists over 19 games for USC in the 2023-24 season. Whether he will return for his sophomore season or declare for the 2024 NBA draft remains uncertain at this point.

In the meantime, his focus remains on aiding the Trojans in finishing the season strongly, as USC still has two games remaining on their regular season schedule.
