The Philadelphia Eagles are bolstering their defensive edge with a new addition. According to ESPN reports on Monday, Bryce Huff has agreed to a lucrative three-year, $51 million deal with the Eagles.
This contract sets a record, making Huff the highest-paid undrafted player outside of quarterbacks in NFL history.
Huff has spent the initial four seasons of his professional career with the New York Jets. During the recent season, he showcased his skills by tallying a career-best ten sacks along with 29 combined tackles.
Across his first three seasons, he amassed a combined 7.5 sacks. While the Eagles already boast talent at the edge rusher position with players like Nolan Smith, Haason Reddick, and Josh Sweat, reports suggest that Reddick and Sweat have been made available in trade talks to free up cap space.
Smith, a first-round pick for the Eagles in 2023, recorded just one sack in his rookie year, primarily due to his backup role.
