Max Vohland to Miss Remainder of Supercross with Hip Injury

In an Instagram post, Max Vohland, a contender in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, has shed light on the details surrounding his injury sustained back in January. Following a commendable fifth-place finish at the Monster Energy AMA Supercross opener, Vohland encountered misfortune at the second round due to a mechanical snag.

However, his woes exacerbated with a harsh practice session leading up to the San Diego Supercross, culminating in a dislocated hip that necessitated surgical intervention.

Addressing his followers on Thursday night, Vohland candidly revealed the setbacks he has faced post-surgery, indicating a significant impediment to his recovery process. Regrettably, he announced his withdrawal from the remainder of the supercross campaign due to these complications.

Vohland’s comprehensive statement reads:

“Given the shift of SX back to the West Coast, I felt it imperative to provide everyone with an update. Towards the end of January, I endured a crash resulting in a dislocated hip, requiring surgical intervention for correction.

Regrettably, complications arising from the surgery have considerably hampered my recuperation. Consequently, I am regrettably unable to partake in the remaining SX rounds. My focus remains steadfast on rehabilitation, with the ultimate goal of returning to competition at the earliest opportunity.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the fans and sponsors for their unwavering support during this challenging period. The ebbs and flows of racing are an inherent part of the journey, and I eagerly anticipate getting back on the saddle and competing once I’m deemed fit.”

Having previously raced under the banner of Red Bull KTM for three years (2021, 2022, and 2023), Vohland recently inked a deal with the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team. Making his debut on a Kawasaki KX250 at the Anaheim 1 SX season opener, Vohland showcased his prowess by clinching victory in the second heat race and fiercely contending for a podium finish in the main event.

However, fate intervened, prematurely halting his supercross season. Despite refraining from specifying a return date, Vohland expressed his fervent desire to resume racing at the earliest opportunity.

It’s noteworthy that the AMA Pro Motocross Championship is set to kick off on May 25 with the Fox Raceway National.
