A day after receiving a show-cause notice from the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), Hanuma Vihari requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the board on Friday.

According to sources, the former India cricketer, who briefly captained Andhra in a Ranji Trophy match last season, wrote to the ACA explaining his side of the story regarding his removal as captain. An NOC is needed for a player wanting to change associations.

This comes after the ACA sent him a letter expressing disappointment over his public remarks against the association and its officials.

The ACA Secretary stated, “You made certain statements against the Association and its office-bearers on various social media and public platforms, which is unexpected from a senior player. If you had concerns, they could have been addressed to the Association for a resolution rather than escalating the situation.”

“In the Apex Council meeting of ACA on March 12, 2024, your actions were discussed, and it was decided to seek an explanation from you before any further action is taken. You may explain with reasons for your actions,” the letter added.

Earlier, Vihari had expressed his desire to move away from Andhra before the 2023/24 season, with reports suggesting his interest in joining Madhya Pradesh.
