Alex Killorn scored twice, Troy Terry got a goal and two assists, and the Anaheim Ducks broke their five-game losing streak with a 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night. “It’s a good feeling to win,” said Killorn, who has scored 17 goals this season. “We haven’t had that feeling for a while. It’s been tough. So, it’s nice, especially at the end of this road trip, to head home with a positive vibe.”

Mason McTavish and Cam Fowler also scored for Anaheim, while rookie defenseman Olen Zellweger had three assists for his first multipoint game.

Lukas Dostal made 21 saves as the Ducks secured only their second win in their last 14 games (2-11-1). “Losing games, especially one after the other, is not fun,” said Zellweger. “Getting this win here, we’re now looking forward to the next one, where we can build on this momentum.”

Andrei Kuzmenko scored twice and Yegor Sharangovich added a goal for the Flames, who have lost six of their last seven games. Jacob Markstrom made 24 saves.

“We didn’t stick to our game plan,” said Flames defenseman MacKenzie Weegar. “Against a team like that, who play a loose and skilled game, they can capitalize. We need to prepare better, just like we would against any other top team in the league.”

After defeating the playoff-bound Los Angeles Kings and playing a strong game, the Flames returned to their inconsistent form that has troubled them all season.

“Today’s performance didn’t meet our standards, and as leaders, we need to set the example for the younger players,” said Flames captain Mikael Backlund. “We know we have to play a lot better and learn from this experience. We have to step up, especially against teams lower in the standings.”

Anaheim took the lead early in the third period when Fowler joined the attack, received a pass from Trevor Zegras, and scored his first goal in 22 games. The Ducks extended their lead to 4-2 when Terry set up Killorn for a goal. Although Kuzmenko scored his second goal of the night to narrow the lead, Killorn sealed the win with his second goal of the game.

Calgary tied the game 1-1 early in the second period with a power play goal by Sharangovich and took the lead with Kuzmenko’s goal. However, the Ducks quickly equalized, and Terry’s goal tied the game at 2-2. McTavish later left the game due to a lower-body injury following a hit.
