Kawhi Leonard didn’t participate in the game against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night. This was his second consecutive absence due to discomfort in his right knee.
Coach Tyronn Lue stated that Leonard’s availability for Friday night’s game against Utah is uncertain.
When asked if Leonard had undergone an MRI on his knee, Lue responded, “We’re not going to discuss the specifics. He’s undergoing rehabilitation.”
Leonard has faced injuries to his right knee in the past, including a torn ACL and torn meniscus.
Despite his recent absence, Leonard has been relatively healthy this season, averaging 23.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. He has played in 68 games, which is his highest since the 2016-17 season, when he played 74 games for San Antonio.
He was also absent in Tuesday night’s game against Sacramento, which resulted in a loss for the Clippers, who are currently in fourth place. They have six games left in the season following Thursday’s game.
