The Dolphins were leading the AFC East for most of the 2023 season but ended up missing out on winning the division title by losing their last two games to Baltimore and Buffalo.
However, there’s still hope for the team in 2024, especially with many players returning, including left tackle Terron Armstead.
During an interview with NFL Network, Armstead mentioned that he had thought about retiring after playing only 10 games in 2023. But he decided to return for another season to protect quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
“For the past two or three seasons, I’ve taken time to evaluate and process,” Armstead said on NFL Network’s Total Access. “This game takes a toll physically, mentally, and emotionally. So, I wanted to make sure I was fully committed and invested.”
Under head coach Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins have reached the playoffs in the last two seasons but were eliminated early in the wild-card round both times.
Armstead believes the Dolphins have what it takes to change that outcome in 2024, despite changes in the roster and the AFC East.
“We focus on what we have internally,” he said. “We believe we have the talent, skills, and toughness needed. It’s time to prove ourselves and win those crucial games. We have the confidence to beat anyone at full strength, and that’s our mindset.” “We’re confident, but we need to go out there and make it happen,” he added.
