The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Saturday night that Bobby Miller has been put on the 15-day injured list due to inflammation in his right shoulder.

Miller, who is 25 years old, has had three starts in his second season in the major leagues, with a record of 1 win and 1 loss and an ERA of 5.40. He has struck out 18 batters and walked 6 in 11 2/3 innings.

This injury adds to the challenges for the Dodgers’ pitching rotation, which is already dealing with the absence of several key players, including Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, Emmet Sheehan, Dustin May, and Tony Gonsolin. The team’s remaining starters include Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, James Paxton, and Gavin Stone.

Miller had a successful rookie season last year, with an 11-4 record and a 3.76 ERA in 22 starts. He was drafted 29th in the 2020 amateur draft from Louisville.

Additionally, right-handed reliever Connor Brogdon has also been placed on the 15-day injured list due to right plantar fasciitis.

In response to these injuries, the Dodgers have called up right-hander J.P. Feyereisen and left-hander Nick Ramirez from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Ramirez was acquired from the New York Yankees on April 2 in exchange for cash.

The game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres on Saturday night started after a rain delay of 2 hours and 15 minutes. This marks the second rain delay at Dodger Stadium this season.
