Antoine Semenyo netted a goal, aiding 10-man Bournemouth in their 1-0 win against Wolverhampton in a Premier League match marked by another controversial referee call.

Wolves had a goal disallowed in the second half, with referee Stuart Attwell ruling out Hwang Hee-chan’s would-be equalizer. Attwell deemed Matheus Cunha’s off-the-ball foul on Justin Kluivert as the reason for disallowing the goal.

Attwell faced scrutiny as the Video Assistant Referee after contentious decisions in Nottingham Forest’s recent match. Forest raised concerns about Attwell’s impartiality due to his reported support for Luton, a rival of Forest in the relegation battle.

Although Cunha’s foul was not initially spotted, Attwell reviewed the incident on the pitchside monitor following advice from VAR Darren England.

Semenyo capitalized on a defensive lapse from Wolves, scoring from close range in the 37th minute.

Later in the game, Attwell issued a straight red card to Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez for a foul on Matt Doherty in the 79th minute.

Among the spectators was former Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant, a devoted Wolves supporter.
