Michael Irvin is out at NFL Network

Last year, uncertainty surrounded Michael Irvin’s position at NFL Network throughout the offseason. However, this year, clarity prevails as it’s confirmed that Irvin is no longer with the network, according to a report by Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post. The league itself verified this information, as reported by Andrew Marchand of TheAthletic.com.

This departure comes as little surprise, given the events of 2023. Irvin’s involvement in a Super Bowl incident, where he was sent home following a complaint from a Marriott hotel employee, drew significant attention.

Though Irvin sued the hotel, the league remained uninvolved in the legal proceedings. It was widely speculated that the league preferred resolving the matter discreetly before considering Irvin’s return.

Subsequently, Irvin settled the case, facilitating his comeback to NFL Network. However, his contract, which had one year remaining as of last September, has now reached its conclusion, leading to the termination of his association with the league.

Despite his departure from NFL Network, Irvin remains active in the sports media landscape. He continues his work with FS1 and has a prior stint at ESPN, showcasing his enduring presence and versatility within the industry.
