Los Angeles Angels’ top player Mike Trout underwent surgery to fix a torn meniscus in his left knee on Friday. The three-time AL MVP is predicted to return and play later this season.
Trout had a surgery called partial medial menisectomy done in California. The team mentioned that he will start his rehabilitation process in Anaheim.
This is the fourth year in a row that Trout, an 11-time All-Star, has dealt with a serious injury.
Angels manager Ron Washington mentioned that everything went as expected during the surgery.
Trout, who is 32 years old, is not sure exactly when he hurt his knee. Before the injury, he was leading the major leagues with 10 home runs, 14 RBIs, and six steals.
Trout expressed frustration at being out for an extended period again when it was announced he would miss more time.
Washington’s message to Trout was encouraging, expressing how much they miss him and hoping for a speedy recovery.
