Arsenal continued its chase for the Premier League title with a convincing 3-0 victory over Bournemouth, extending their lead over second-place Manchester City by four points. The gap could narrow if City wins against Wolverhampton later and with another game in hand.
The match saw Bukayo Saka converting a penalty just before halftime, followed by goals from Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice in the second half, securing Arsenal’s fourth consecutive league win.
Their pursuit for the league title, last won in 2004, remains alive with two more matches to play.
The penalty was awarded after Kai Havertz was fouled in the box, resulting in Saka successfully converting from the spot. Despite Bournemouth showing more energy in the second half, Rice’s assist to Trossard and his own late goal sealed the victory for Arsenal.
Bournemouth had a goal disallowed at 2-0 due to a foul on Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya by Dominic Solanke in the buildup, with the decision upheld after a VAR check.
