Ranger Suárez pitched well for six innings, Whit Merrifield hit a home run, and the Philadelphia Phillies, who are on a winning streak, easily beat the San Francisco Giants 14-3 on Saturday night.

Kyle Schwarber, Johan Rojas, and Bryson Stott each brought in two runs, and every player who started had at least one hit for Philadelphia.

“We had good turns at bat from everyone in the lineup,” said Philadelphia manager Rob Thomson. The Phillies have won 15 out of their last 18 games, and with 23 victories, they have the most wins in the majors.

“We’re getting solid pitching, timely hits, and different players contributing every game,” said Thomson. “That’s what a good team does. We need to stay grounded and keep playing hard.”

However, the excitement of the win was tempered by news before the game that shortstop Trea Turner will be out for at least six weeks due to a left hamstring injury.

In addition, third baseman Alec Bohm left the game in the third inning because of tightness in his left hip, which he felt during his second-inning at-bat.

Despite extending his hitting streak to 17 games with a single, Bohm remained optimistic, saying he expects to be back in the lineup on Sunday evening. Despite missing Turner and Bohm for most of the game, the Phillies still managed to dominate.
