The United States’ defeat against Uruguay in their final Copa America group stage match on Monday night was watched by an average of 3.78 million viewers.
This made it the most-watched non-World Cup soccer broadcast on FS1 and the highest-viewed Copa America game in English in the U.S.
Viewership peaked at 4.87 million during the match’s final 15 minutes at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
Copa America games on Fox, FS1, and FS2 have been averaging 1.10 million viewers as of Monday night, marking a 48% increase compared to 2016, the last time the tournament was held in the U.S.
Fox has had a successful summer with soccer, also broadcasting the Euro Championship. Sunday’s 4-1 victory by Spain over Georgia drew an average of 2.87 million viewers on Fox, making it the most-watched Round of 16 U.S. English-language broadcast ever.
