Wednesday marks the official beginning of NFL training camp season.

While rookies and some other players have been reporting to their respective teams over the past few days, Wednesday will see the first complete team gathering for work.

The Texans have the distinction of being the first team to assemble in Houston, aiming to build on their achievements from last season. They clinched the AFC South title and won a Wild Card game against the Browns before their season ended with a loss to the Ravens, concluding quarterback C.J. Stroud’s rookie year.

Houston Texans celebrate in the game

During the offseason, the Texans bolstered their roster by adding players such as wide receiver Stefon Diggs, edge rusher Danielle Hunter, and running back Joe Mixon.

These acquisitions, combined with anticipated growth from Stroud and fellow 2023 first-round pick Will Anderson, have positioned the Texans as strong contenders in the AFC.

Houston is kicking off training camp earlier than other teams due to their participation in the Hall of Fame Game. They will face the Bears, who had their rookies reporting on Tuesday and will have their full squad ready by Friday.
