Bayer Leverkusen, the current Bundesliga champion, recently acquired French forward Martin Terrier from Rennes. The 27-year-old has committed to the German club until June 2029, as announced by Leverkusen. Terrier has accumulated 202 appearances in the French league with Lille, Strasburg, Lyon, and Rennes.

According to Leverkusen’s sporting director Simon Rolfes, Terrier brings valuable attributes such as speed, intelligence, and scoring prowess to their offensive strategy.

Rolfes expressed satisfaction with Terrier’s flexibility and strong finishing abilities, which align well with the team’s requirements.

Reportedly, Leverkusen paid Rennes 20 million euros ($22 million) for Terrier’s transfer. The French forward was scheduled to join his new teammates in his first training session on Friday.

This marks Leverkusen’s second acquisition from Rennes this offseason, following the signing of 19-year-old French center-back Jeanuel Belocian. Additionally, Leverkusen secured 16-year-old Italian defender Andrea Natali from Barcelona’s youth academy and 27-year-old Spanish midfielder Aleix García from Girona.
