Juventus became the only Serie A team to win both of their first two matches of the season after Dušan Vlahovic scored twice in a 3-0 win over Verona on Monday.
Right-back Nicolo Savona also scored on his first start as Juventus achieved their second consecutive 3-0 victory.
Vlahovic gave Juventus the lead after 28 minutes by finding space in Verona’s defense and overcoming the challenge of three defenders to score from 12 yards.
Savona extended the lead with a header 11 minutes later, and Vlahovic completed the scoring with a penalty eight minutes into the second half. Verona is in ninth place with three points.
Como earned its first Serie A point in over 20 years when Cesc Fabregas’ team came back from a goal behind to draw 1-1 at Cagliari.
Fabregas, who used to play for Arsenal and Barcelona, helped Como return to the top division last season after a 21-year absence, but the team lost their first game 3-0 to Juventus.
Despite this, Como showed determination on a sunny evening in Sardinia.
Roberto Piccolo put Cagliari ahead by sneaking in between a unsure defender and goalkeeper to score after 44 minutes.
This goal marked the fifth season in a row that the 23-year-old striker has scored for a different Serie A team, having previously played for Lecce, Empoli, Atalanta, and Spezia.
Como equalized eight minutes into the second half. Alberto Dossena headed down a corner kick from the right, and Como-born Patrick Cutrone was ready to send the ball high into the net.
Both goalkeepers made important saves in the last 15 minutes to keep the score tied.
