Former NBA forward Bruno Caboclo is working out with the Warriors this week as he looks for a new chance in the league, according to his agent Daniel Hazan who spoke to Sports Channel in Israel.
Hazan mentioned, “He will train with the Golden State Warriors until Thursday with the goal of signing a contract, and he believes he will succeed.”
Caboclo, who was the 20th pick in the 2014 draft, played parts of seven NBA seasons but only appeared in 105 games for the Raptors, Kings, Grizzlies, and Rockets from 2014 to 2021. He averaged 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game.
Caboclo has had more success internationally, winning a German League title in 2023 with Ratiopharm Ulm and making the All-EuroCup Second Team that season. He also played for Brazil in the recent Olympics, leading the team with 17.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in four games.
Although Caboclo had planned to return to KK Partizan for another season after his stint with the Serbian club in 2023/24, it now seems he might end up with a different team.
The Warriors might offer him a chance to make their regular season roster, as they currently have only 12 players with guaranteed salaries, with Lindy Waters and Gui Santos (both on non-guaranteed deals) currently in line as the 13th and 14th players.
If Caboclo doesn’t get an NBA offer, he might look into a deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv. The Israeli team offered him a contract earlier this month, and although there was a short window to accept it, his agent mentioned that Tel Aviv is still a possibility.
Hazan said, “We are in negotiations, we are making good progress. It’s definitely an option worth keeping.”
