Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer saw his no-hit attempt end in the seventh inning against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday night.

Kremer held the Rays hitless until rookie Junior Caminero led off the seventh inning with a sharp single to left field.

Dylan Carlson then hit a single to right field, and after Josh Lowe reached base on an error, loading the bases, Kremer was removed from the game by manager Brandon Hyde.

Kremer had walked three batters and struck out seven.

Before Caminero’s single, the closest the Rays had come to a hit was in the sixth inning when Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday made a leaping catch on a liner hit by Yandy Díaz.

This was Kremer’s first start since August 31, when he was hit in the arm by a line drive during a game against Colorado.

There have been four no-hitters this season, with the most recent one achieved on Wednesday by the Chicago Cubs, who used three pitchers to complete the game.
