New York Jets rookie Braelon Allen has become the youngest player in 94 years to score a touchdown from scrimmage in the NFL.
Allen scored a 12-yard touchdown pass from the NFL’s oldest player, 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers, with 1:47 left in the second quarter on Sunday against Tennessee. The fourth-round pick from Wisconsin made his way into the end zone to complete the play.
With this touchdown, he matched Arnie Herber, who also scored a touchdown at the age of 20 years and 239 days back in 1930.
This touchdown tied the game at 7 during the Jets’ most successful drive of the game so far. Herber, born on April 2, 1910, in Green Bay, was playing for the Packers when he caught his touchdown pass on November 27, 1930.
