The Chicago Cubs picked up right-handed reliever Enoli Paredes after he was placed on waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday.

Paredes, who will turn 29 on Saturday, has a record of 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA and one save in 17 games for the Brewers. He missed over two months earlier this season due to a right forearm injury.

Before starting a three-game series in Philadelphia, the Cubs also recalled right-handers Gavin Hollowell and Caleb Kilian from Triple-A Iowa. Right-hander Jorge López was put on the 15-day injured list with a right groin strain, and right-hander Trey Wingenter was sent to the Arizona Complex League.

López, 31, joined the Cubs after being released by the New York Mets in June. He has a 1-1 record with a 2.03 ERA and two saves in 24 appearances with Chicago.

The Brewers designated Paredes for assignment on Friday when they promoted right-hander Kevin Herget from Triple-A Nashville.

In his career, Paredes has a 4-3 record with a 3.06 ERA, 51 strikeouts, one save, and 41 walks over 53 innings in 54 major league games, all in relief. He played for the Houston Astros from 2020 to 2022.

The Cubs had a spot available on their 40-man roster after they designated right-hander Shawn Armstrong for assignment last week.
