Karim Adeyemi was a key player as Borussia Dortmund dominated Celtic, while Barcelona and Manchester City also secured their first victories in the revamped Champions League on Tuesday.

Adeyemi scored three goals in the first half, leading Dortmund to a 7-1 win at home. This was the second impressive win for a German team in the tournament, following Bayern Munich’s 9-2 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the opening matchday.

Robert Lewandowski helped Barcelona get started with a comfortable 5-0 win at home against Swiss side Young Boys, while his former teammate İlkay Gündoğan contributed to Manchester City’s 4-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava.

Erling Haaland added to his tally with his 42nd goal in just 41 Champions League matches.

City had drawn 0-0 with Inter Milan in their first game, while Barcelona bounced back from their 2-1 defeat at Monaco, marking the first loss for new coach Hansi Flick.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal defeated his old team Paris Saint-Germain with a 2-0 score, with goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka in the first half. PSG coach Luis Enrique’s decision to leave Ousmane Dembélé out did not work in his favor.

Arteta previously had a successful 18-month loan at PSG while he was a teenager at Barcelona.
