Josh Norris completed a two-goal performance with the game-winning goal just 56 seconds into overtime, leading the Ottawa Senators to an 8-7 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.

Zack MacEwen also scored twice for the Senators, with contributions from Jake Sanderson, Drake Batherson, Thomas Chabot, and Claude Giroux.

Anton Forsberg allowed three goals on nine shots before being replaced by Mads Sogaard, who was called up on an emergency basis earlier that day and gave up four goals on 17 shots.

For the Kings, Kevin Fiala and Alex Laferriere each scored twice, while Trevor Lewis, Adrian Kempe, and Tanner Jeannot added goals. Darcy Kuemper made 33 saves.

With the game tied at 6-6 in the third period, Norris put the Senators ahead for the first time, but Jeannot equalized with 5:34 left in the game.

Los Angeles Kings celebrates after a goal

The Kings have not lost to the Senators in regulation since January 10, 2019.

Senators: This was the eighth time in the team’s history that they scored and allowed six goals in the same game, and the third time it happened against Los Angeles.

Kings: Brandt Clarke, who is from Nepean, Ontario, had an impressive game with three assists. This was Clarke’s first NHL game in his hometown.

After trailing 3-1 and lacking energy, MacEwen’s first goal midway through the second period ignited the Senators’ comeback.

The Kings entered the game with a perfect penalty kill percentage, having successfully defended all 10 chances against them, but they allowed three power-play goals on Monday.
