Reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson was back at practice with the Ravens on Friday after missing two days because of back and knee problems.

Although it’s not clear how much he practiced, his return is a good sign for his chances to play in Baltimore’s Week 9 home game against the Denver Broncos (5-3).

If Jackson can’t play on Sunday, the Ravens (5-3) would rely on 38-year-old Josh Johnson. Devin Leary is currently on the practice squad.

Baltimore coach John Harbaugh is expected to talk to reporters after Friday’s practice.

Jackson, a two-time MVP, was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October. He completed 86 of 128 passes (67.2 percent) for 1,241 yards, with 12 touchdowns and just one interception, giving him a passer rating of 126.5. He also ran for 193 yards during the month.

At 27 years old, Jackson has completed 158 of 236 passes (66.9 percent) for 2,099 yards, with 17 touchdowns and two interceptions in all eight games this season. He leads the league in average yards per attempt (9.95) and passer rating (115.4).

He has rushed 81 times for 501 yards and two touchdowns.

The Ravens picked Jackson as the 32nd overall choice in the 2018 NFL Draft from Louisville. He won the NFL MVP award in 2019 and again last season, and he has been named to the first-team All-Pro twice and has been selected for the Pro Bowl three times.

In his 94 career regular-season games (85 starts), Jackson has thrown for 17,986 yards and 142 touchdowns with 47 interceptions. He also has 956 carries for 5,759 yards and 31 rushing touchdowns.
