Red Bull team leader Christian Horner suggested that Sergio Perez’s position with the team might be uncertain, but Perez feels confident about racing next year.

After finishing last in the Mexico City Grand Prix, Horner told the press, “As a team, we need to have both cars scoring points, and that’s how F1 works. We’ve done everything we can to support Checo, and we’ll keep doing that in Brazil next weekend, but there comes a point where we can only do so much.”

When asked about Horner’s comments, Perez seemed unconcerned. “It’s just rumors at the end of the day,” he said, according to Formula1.com. “You will see me in Vegas, and you will see me next year. I’m not the one who worries about it.”

Perez, 34, also responded to team advisor Helmut Marko’s remarks that questioned his future with Red Bull. “Well, I know I am (going to be here). That’s all I can say,” Perez stated, as reported by F1i.com.

He is looking forward to the upcoming Sao Paulo Grand Prix and moving past his disappointing performance in Mexico City.

“What happened is in the past. We move on and take those first 10 laps as a hope,” he explained. “We understood what went wrong in qualifying, identified the issues, and tried to fix them for Sunday, and I think we made progress, which is definitely encouraging.”
