Substitute Harry Wilson scored twice in injury time to help Fulham come from behind and win 2-1 at home against Brentford in the Premier League on Monday.

Wilson came on in the 82nd minute and scored the equalizer in the second minute of injury time. He connected with a cross from Adama Traore, flicking the ball inside the far post while his back was to the goal. Just four minutes later, Wilson scored the winner with a header from another cross, this time from Antonee Robinson. Fulham’s attacking pressure was finally rewarded.

Fulham had only been behind for 113 minutes in the league this season and controlled most of the early play, but Brentford took the lead in the 24th minute against the run of play.

Fulham’s sloppy play in midfield allowed Brentford to take possession, and German midfielder Vitaly Janelt fired a shot from nearly 30 meters out that found the bottom corner of Bernd Leno’s left-hand post.

Marco Silva’s Fulham side pushed forward but had little to show for it until Wilson’s late goals. The win moves Fulham up to ninth place in the league, while Brentford stays in 13th.

“It’s emotionally very tough right now,” said Brentford coach Thomas Frank. “When you’re leading in the 92nd minute, it’s tough for us to even get a draw — and then we lose.”

“On the day, Fulham were better, but we showed a lot of resilience and defending. I thought that could give us the win, but then there was an unbelievable touch from Wilson where 99 times out of 100 it doesn’t go in. Then we could have won, and in the end, we lost. It was brutal.”
