Myles Turner scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, hitting five 3-pointers, to lead the Indiana Pacers to a 134-127 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. This was Indiana’s third straight win against Dallas.
Tyrese Haliburton also had a great game, posting a season-high 25 points and 12 assists. Other contributors for the Pacers included Pascal Siakam with 23 points, Bennedict Mathurin with 16, T.J. McConnell with 12, and both Obi Toppin and Andrew Nembhard adding 11 points each.
Luka Doncic was the top performer for the Mavericks, scoring 34 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing out a season-high 15 assists. Kyrie Irving contributed 27 points, while Naji Marshall scored 20, Klay Thompson added 16, and Spencer Dinwiddie had 14 points.
Indiana led 124-116 after Siakam scored to complete an 8-0 run with 3:41 left in the game. Dallas cut the lead to 126-120 after Irving’s layup with 2:34 remaining, but Mathurin responded with a 3-pointer.
After Haliburton made one of two free throws, Dallas scored five quick points to make it 130-125 with 1:03 to go.
However, Indiana sealed the win with four unanswered points from Haliburton and Mathurin. The Pacers shot 56.8 percent from the field and 40.6 percent (13 of 32) from three-point range.
Indiana started strong, jumping to a 15-2 lead and finishing the first quarter with a 36-29 advantage, shooting 7 of 9 from beyond the arc.
Dallas took its first lead of the game at 54-53 with 2:39 left in the second quarter thanks to a 3-pointer from Irving. However, the Pacers finished the half strong, going on an 8-2 run to take a 63-59 lead into halftime.
Doncic led Dallas with 19 points in the first half. The Mavericks played without center Dereck Lively II, who was out due to a right shoulder sprain.
Thompson tied the game early in the third quarter, but Indiana quickly regained a nine-point lead. Dallas fought back, and Dinwiddie made a 3-pointer with 37.8 seconds left to give the Mavericks a 95-94 lead.
On the next possession, Siakam scored for the Pacers, and they reclaimed the lead at 96-95 heading into the fourth quarter.
Indiana played without forward Aaron Nesmith, who has a left ankle sprain, and centers Isaiah Jackson and James Wiseman, both of whom are out indefinitely due to torn Achilles tendons.
