Dylan Strome scored the game-winning goal in the third period, helping the Washington Capitals defeat the Buffalo Sabres 4-2 on Saturday.

Jason Zucker and Jiri Kulich scored for the Sabres, while Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 27 saves. Buffalo has now lost nine games in a row (0-6-3).

Zucker gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead at 1:36 in the first period. The puck deflected off Zucker’s skate after Jordan Greenway tipped a shot by Ryan McLeod, and it slowly went under Thompson’s pad.
