New York City FC announced today that it has signed goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh through 2026, with an option for 2027.

The Canadian goalkeeper joins New York City after most recently playing for Toronto FC. With over 100 appearances across various clubs and competitions, Ranjitsingh brings a wealth of experience, having kept 39 clean sheets during his career.

“We’d like to welcome Greg to New York City,” said Sporting Director David Lee. “Greg has valuable experience, having been in the league since 2019. He will strengthen our already competitive goalkeeping team as we work towards the goals we’ve set for the 2025 MLS season.”

Aside from Toronto FC, the 31-year-old goalkeeper has also played for the Philadelphia Union, Minnesota United, LAFC, and Orlando City in MLS. He has appeared in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and MLS NEXT Pro competitions.

“I can’t wait to get started with New York City FC. I’m excited to join this talented team and help take it to the next level,” said Ranjitsingh.

“Looking at last year, New York City is a team that has made good progress and is close to competing for another MLS Cup. I want to help build on that and bring my experience, dedication, and hard work to raise the standards and support the team in any way I can.”

Ranjitsingh, who is from Pickering, Ontario, has mostly played in the USL Championship with Louisville City, where he made 77 appearances and earned 31 clean sheets between 2015 and 2018. He won back-to-back USL Championship titles during his time with the club.

“This is a city that my family and I have been very fond of for many years, and it’s an honor to be able to represent it,” Ranjitsingh added. “I look forward to working with Rob Vartughian and the rest of the goalkeeper group, some of whom I’ve already worked with. I can’t wait to meet the fans and make them proud as we aim to add more trophies to the collection.”
