Joey Logano and the #22 Penske team are facing a challenging situation lately. They haven’t won a race in nearly 40 tries, which has raised concerns, including from Kevin Harvick. However, Logano remains hopeful as he prepares for the upcoming race at COTA.
Before the race in Austin this Sunday, the two-time NASCAR Cup champion talked about the tough start to the season and his plans to turn things around. “We just keep pushing through. It’s a process. We keep working hard as a team.
We’ve shown good speed in qualifying, but we’ve been caught up in several accidents earlier this season,” Logano explained.
“We’re in a tough spot right now, so earning points is crucial. We need to climb back up the standings.”
When asked if this winless streak feels similar to experiences in his career, Logano acknowledged that they’ve had challenging periods before. However, this time feels different because they started the season without any points and are still struggling to make progress.
“We’ve faced tough times in the past, but usually, we start strong and then fall back. Now, we’re starting from scratch and have a lot of work ahead of us,” Logano added.
