A.J. Greer scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period, helping the Florida Panthers secure a 4-2 victory over the Dallas Stars on Saturday, completing their sweep of the 2024 NHL Global Series in Tampere, Finland.

Greer picked up the puck after a faceoff win by Tomas Nosek and shot it into the top corner, putting Florida ahead 3-2 at 2:32 of the third period.

Sam Reinhart, who assisted on Evan Rodrigues’ goal in the first period, sealed the win by scoring into an empty net with one minute left in the game.

Matthew Tkachuk also scored on a power play, and Spencer Knight made 23 saves for the Panthers, who have now won five games in a row. Florida had previously defeated Dallas 6-4 on Friday.

Matt Duchene scored a goal and provided an assist, while Casey DeSmith made 21 saves for the Stars.

Tkachuk opened the scoring for the Panthers with a power-play goal at 8:47 of the second period, tipping Uvis Balinskis’ shot past DeSmith.

The Stars managed to tie the game with two goals just 34 seconds apart in the second period.

Evgenii Dadonov started the scoring for Dallas with a power-play goal at 11:22. Wyatt Johnston made a cross-ice pass to Dadonov, who moved into the right circle and shot between the goalie’s pads to make it 2-1.

Matt Duchene tied the game at 11:56. Miro Heiskanen took a hard shot from the blue line, and Duchene was at the side of the net to backhand the rebound past Spencer Knight.

Evan Rodrigues gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead at 14:45 of the first period. Sam Reinhart passed the puck down the left side to Niko Mikkola at the point, and Mikkola’s one-timer deflected off Rodrigues’ stick and went under the crossbar.

Reinhart’s assist was his 20th point of the season in just 13 games. This is the fastest any player in Panthers history has reached 20 points in a season, beating the previous record of 14 games.

Stars forward Tyler Seguin missed the game due to a lower-body injury and is considered day-to-day.
