A Sky Sports reporter has offered an update on the ongoing hearing concerning allegations of ‘inappropriate behavior’ against Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull Racing.
Horner, who has helmed Red Bull Racing since 2005, underwent questioning by an independent lawyer regarding the complaint on Friday. Red Bull Gmbh, the parent company based near Salzburg, has expressed seriousness in addressing the allegations against Horner.
While the exact nature of the complaint remains undisclosed by the team, Horner has refuted the allegations, as reported by Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. Additionally, Horner has denied the claims during a meeting of the F1 Commission, attended by team bosses, the FIA, and F1 commercial rights holders, according to the BBC.
Providing an update on the situation, Sky Sports reporter Craig Slater stated that a resolution is not expected imminently. He remarked on Sky Sports News:
“The proceedings are ongoing, with Christian Horner still engaged in discussions with the investigator at a discreet location in London. The meeting was relocated from Red Bull headquarters in Milton Keynes due to heightened media interest.
“Horner has been engaged in interviews since approximately 10 o’clock this morning. The session is anticipated to conclude around 6 pm. This marks Horner’s first formal engagement since the emergence of the allegations.
A female employee and colleague at Red Bull Racing have accused Christian Horner of ‘controlling and coercive’ behavior, and today, Horner is learning more about the specifics of the accusation against him.
“However, it is unlikely that a resolution will be reached by the end of the day. Sources indicate that this process could be protracted, as Red Bull is conducting a thorough investigation that adheres to a fair and comprehensive approach.
“Considering the upcoming events in the F1 calendar, including the launch of their car next Thursday and pre-season testing starting on the 20th of this month, the process may extend beyond these dates. Red Bull is committed to ensuring a diligent and impartial handling of the matter for all involved parties.”
