Aryna Sabalenka’s fitness coach, Jason Stacy, playfully addressed the unique pre-match ritual of having his bald head signed by the newly-crowned Australian Open champion.
Following Sabalenka’s routine of autographing his head before every match, Stacy humorously revealed that the team is now suggesting he permanently tattoo her signature onto his head.
“It might get worse, actually. Now they’re trying to say I’ve got to get a tattoo of this on my head. I’m like, I don’t know about that,” Stacy joked during a press conference, highlighting the light-hearted atmosphere within Sabalenka’s team.
Confirming that the tradition continued even before the final match, Stacy shared details of the amusing pre-match routine.
“Of course there’s a signature on my head, man,” he chuckled, explaining that on match days, Sabalenka signs his head with her autograph and writes random things on his ear for good luck. “So today was my name in case I get lost. Remember my name,” he quipped.
Stacy further added a humorous twist by revealing Sabalenka’s playful plans for the next inscription. When coach Anton Dubrov suggested it might be her blood type, Stacy jokingly disclosed, “No, no, she said, next one she’s going to write: Please follow me on my Instagram page. We’ll both see. Just for fun.”
