Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams is edging closer to his comeback following hamstring surgery and might feature in the squad for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United.

The 25-year-old, who serves as the United States captain, has seen limited action for Bournemouth since his transfer from Leeds last summer, having undergone surgery in October.

Adams recently played for 30 minutes in a developmental team match for Bournemouth this week and appears to be in good spirits, according to first-team manager Andoni Iraola.

“We could potentially include him on the bench since we have available spots,” Iraola remarked regarding Adams’ potential involvement in the upcoming match against Sheffield, the league’s bottom side.

“For his personal development, it could be a positive step, but he’s still in the process of recovery and requires more training. Nonetheless, he’s progressing well.”

Adams made his debut for Bournemouth in an English League Cup fixture against Stoke on September 27 but experienced discomfort thereafter. He had previously encountered hamstring issues toward the end of his stint with Leeds last season.

Top scorer Dominic Solanke’s availability remains uncertain due to a knee concern, with his participation set to be determined just before the match. “We’re doing our best to ensure he’s in optimal condition to play tomorrow,” Iraola stated.

Additionally, defender Marcos Senesi has been ruled out due to a hamstring strain. Bournemouth currently occupies the 13th position in the Premier League standings with 31 points from 26 matches.
