When Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson spotted a stranded vehicle on the roadside last week, he didn’t hesitate to lend a helping hand. He pulled over, checked on the driver, and offered assistance by providing a ride to an auto parts store, offering financial help, and then driving him back to his car.
Richardson’s act of kindness didn’t go unnoticed, especially by the Indianapolis man he helped, Parker Suddeth. Suddeth, who initially didn’t recognize Richardson, shared his gratitude, recounting how he had struggled for 20 minutes to flag someone down before Richardson stopped to help.
“When he stopped, we realized we didn’t have the necessary tools to fix the flat tire,” Suddeth explained.
“So, Richardson generously gave me $200 in cash and offered to drive me to the store to get the tools I needed.” It wasn’t until they were en route that Suddeth discovered Richardson’s profession.
“I asked, ‘Hey, what do you do for a living?’ and he said, ‘I’m a football player,'” Suddeth recalled. “I said, ‘Really?’ He replied, ‘Yeah, I play for the Colts.’ I looked him up and realized, ‘You’re the quarterback for the Colts.’ Wow, I guess I’m a fan now.”
Despite Richardson’s humble demeanor, Suddeth shared his experience on social media. Richardson, upon seeing the post, left a heartfelt reply, saying, “My guy! Weird way to make a new friend, rooting for ya my dude!” As news of Richardson’s kind deed spreads, he’s undoubtedly earning admiration and support from many new fans.
