Arsenal have entered the race to acquire Fiorentina’s promising right-back, Michael Kayode, as several Premier League clubs eye the talented youngster for a potential summer transfer. Despite being in his debut senior season, the teenage sensation has made a significant impact in Serie A.
Having excelled in Fiorentina’s youth ranks, Kayode’s achievements extended to the Italy U-19 team, contributing to their Euro triumph in 2023. His stellar performance in the tournament elevated his profile, leading to his senior team debut at the beginning of the current season.
With 25 appearances across all competitions, including a goal and three assists, Kayode has drawn attention from Arsenal, who are reportedly preparing a bid for the 19-year-old, according to HITC Football.
However, Arsenal faces competition for Kayode’s signature, with Chelsea, West Ham United, and Aston Villa also expressing interest in the promising defender. Tottenham Hotspur has also dispatched scouts to monitor Kayode’s progress, hoping to outmaneuver their North London rivals in securing his services.
Spurs have a history of successful dealings with Italian clubs and remain active in the transfer market, having recently signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa in the January window.
Despite Kayode signing a contract extension with Fiorentina until 2028 last October, Arsenal remains undeterred in their pursuit. The Italy U-21 international’s breakout season has put him in the spotlight, with a potential move on the cards for the upcoming summer transfer window.
