The Steelers have made significant changes this offseason, especially at quarterback, where they brought in Russell Wilson, acquired Justin Fields through a trade, and traded away Kenny Pickett. Steelers owner Art Rooney II hopes these changes lead to immediate improvement.
Rooney mentioned that the goal in Pittsburgh is not just to plan for the future, but to improve right away.
“Every year we aim to find ways to improve and do so as quickly as we can,” Rooney said. “That’s the main goal: to improve as fast as possible.”
Rooney feels that the Steelers are already in a better position than they were at the beginning of March, but he anticipates further improvement in April.
“I’m satisfied with our progress so far,” Rooney stated. “The next focus is on the draft. We need to make good choices there.”
The Steelers haven’t won a playoff game since the 2016 season. Rooney wants to change that as soon as possible.
