Former Manchester United center-back Rio Ferdinand believes that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would not hesitate to leave the Gunners if he received an offer to manage Manchester United in the summer.
According to Ferdinand, Arteta’s impressive work at Arsenal since joining in December 2019 has elevated his reputation in the Premier League. Despite his success with the London club, Ferdinand believes that Arteta would find it difficult to turn down the opportunity to switch to Old Trafford if it arose.
Ferdinand expressed his opinion on the matter, stating, “Arteta would leave Arsenal to come to Man United, 100 percent.” He emphasized that while there are no current indications of such a move, Arteta would likely accept the offer if Manchester United were to pursue him.
Ferdinand speculated on scenarios where current United manager Erik ten Hag might depart for Bayern Munich, leaving Arteta as a potential replacement.
Although there are currently no links between Arteta and Manchester United, Ferdinand suggested that circumstances could change, especially given the uncertainty surrounding Ten Hag’s position at Old Trafford.
With the club’s recent partial takeover by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Ferdinand hinted at potential shifts in the managerial landscape at Manchester United soon.
