Jarvis Landry is eager to make a comeback. After sitting out the 2023 season, the former Pro Bowl receiver is joining the Jaguars for rookie minicamp.
Will Landry accept a disappointing 2022 season with the Saints as his final chapter in football?
“The competitor in me says no,” Landry shared, according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com. “But again, whatever. Whatever’s in God’s hands, in his cards, I just kind of rock with that.”
His first task is to impress the Jaguars enough to earn a spot on their 90-man roster. Then, he’ll aim to secure a place on the final 53-man roster.
In 2022, Landry played in nine games, catching 25 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown.
Selected in the second round by the Dolphins in 2014, Landry had an impressive run from 2014 to 2019. However, his performance declined in 2020 and took a further hit in 2021.
Landry played for the Dolphins from 2014 to 2017 and then for the Browns from 2018 to 2021, earning five Pro Bowl selections.
Whether Landry succeeds with the Jaguars or elsewhere remains to be seen. Regardless, it offers him a chance for closure if things don’t work out.
