Two years ago, when the Denver Broncos inked Russell Wilson to a hefty 5-year, $242.6 million deal, it was seen as a stroke of genius by many. However, the reality couldn’t have been further from the truth. Wilson’s two-year stint in the Mile High City turned out to be a disappointment, marked by inconsistency and internal discord.
During his time with the Broncos, the quarterback posted an average cumulative rating of 91.2. He threw for 6,594 yards and 42 touchdowns but also had 19 interceptions. For a player of Wilson’s caliber, these numbers fell short of expectations.

Now thrust into free agency as of March 13th, the big question looms: where will Wilson land next? Equally pressing is the matter of how much interest NFL teams have in the 35-year-old quarterback. According to Rich Eisen, Wilson’s next team is likely to emerge after the conclusion of the draft.
“If I had to guess right now, I’d say after [the draft],” Eisen predicted. Despite rumors that Wilson may accept a reduced salary, Eisen believes that he may not be an immediate priority for many teams. The timing of Wilson’s signing with a new team, whether before or after the draft, will be a telling indicator of his market demand.
