The Atlanta Hawks have signed free agents Kevon Harris and Joey Hauser to one-year, minimum-salary contracts, as announced on Friday. Both players bring experience from the G League and brief NBA stints, joining the Hawks to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.
Kevon Harris, a 27-year-old guard, appeared in 36 games for the Orlando Magic over the past two seasons while on a two-way contract. In his limited NBA minutes, he averaged 4.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, contributing primarily in a backup role. Despite his smaller role in Orlando, Harris has a strong G League resume.
During his four seasons in the G League, Harris played 89 games with teams such as Raptors 905, Lakeland Magic, and Osceola Magic. He started in 70 of those games and averaged 15.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, showcasing his scoring ability and versatility across multiple positions.
Joey Hauser, a 25-year-old forward, played 50 games last season for the Ontario Clippers in the G League, where he posted 7.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. The younger brother of Boston Celtics player Sam Hauser, Joey brings size and shooting range to Atlanta’s frontcourt, looking to establish himself after proving his potential in the G League.
