Substitute Alexis Claude-Maurice scored during his debut for Augsburg, helping the team win 2-1 against Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Bundesliga on Friday.
Augsburg managed to score in both halves, bouncing back after losing their last two matches.
With this win, they moved ahead of Moenchengladbach to take the 11th spot in the league.
Keven Schlotterbeck put Augsburg in the lead with a volley just before halftime, and Claude-Maurice added another goal eight minutes after coming onto the field.
Tim Kleindienst’s strong header in the 72nd minute brought Moenchengladbach closer, but the goals from Augsburg’s two new players were enough to secure the win.
Schlotterbeck’s powerful shot was his second goal in three games since joining from Freiburg this summer.
