Forward Ferran Torres will be out of action due to a right thigh injury he got during Barcelona’s win over Alaves in the Spanish league, the club announced on Monday.
Torres had to leave the game just five minutes into the 3-0 victory at Alaves on Sunday, where striker Robert Lewandowski scored a hat trick.
Barcelona stated, “tests carried out on the first team player Ferran Torres confirm that he has an injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his right thigh. His return to training will be dependent on his recovery.”
This season, Torres has played in 10 matches, starting six of them. His only goal came during the 7-0 league win against Valladolid in August.
Barcelona is heading into the international break with a three-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the Spanish league standings.
