Chicago Bears running back and top rusher D’Andre Swift missed practice on Wednesday because of a groin injury, but his head coach is optimistic that he’ll be ready for Week 12.
Swift ran for 71 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s 20-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers, but he only played 57 percent of the team’s offensive snaps.
Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said he’s hopeful Swift will be ready to play against the Minnesota Vikings (8-2) on Sunday.
Eberflus also mentioned that offensive lineman Ryan Bates (concussion protocol) and defensive back Elijah Hicks (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday.
Swift, 25, has rushed for 635 yards and five touchdowns in 10 starts this season, his first with Chicago. He has also caught 28 passes for 243 yards.
Swift made his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2023 while with Philadelphia, rushing for 1,049 yards and five touchdowns.
