After parting ways with the Patriots, many thought Bill Belichick would become a head coach elsewhere. But that didn’t happen. Now, people think he might join a big media job. But it seems he’s not interested.

According to Andrew Marchand of TheAthletic.com, Belichick has told TV networks that he doesn’t want to be part of a regular studio show. Instead, he might do something less regular with Omaha Productions or NFL Films.

This could be a mistake by Belichick. If he wants to be a head coach again in 2025, he needs to win over fans of teams that will be looking for a coach. But in a poll during the 2023 season, more than 70 percent of fans said they wouldn’t want Belichick as their team’s coach.

The Dynasty series didn’t help Belichick either. Whether or not it tried to make him look bad, he didn’t come across well in the interview. He seemed even more uncomfortable than usual.

Belichick needs to make himself more likable to fans before a team will want to hire him as a 72-year-old coach. To do that, he should find a media job where he can show a different side of himself. He needs to show that he can be friendly and likable, not just focused on football tactics.

Omaha Productions could be a good place for that. Depending on what he does there, it could help him show a side of himself that fans haven’t seen before.
