Boban Marjanovic, a beloved figure among basketball fans, has been a free agent since the end of his two-season stint with the Houston Rockets. Currently, he is on the lookout for a new team for the upcoming NBA season. Despite being in a state of uncertainty regarding his future in the league, Marjanovic remains optimistic and relaxed about the situation.
Recently, Marjanovic participated in the Goran Dragic farewell game in Slovenia. During an interview with Milun Nesovic of Meridian Sport, he expressed a laid-back attitude towards his contract situation.
He acknowledged that plans often change unexpectedly and emphasized his enjoyment of life’s moments, whether or not he secures an NBA position. He remains hopeful for an NBA opportunity but is open to exploring other options if needed.
At 36 years old, Marjanovic has had a diverse NBA career, having played for teams like the Pistons, Clippers, Sixers, Mavericks, and Rockets. Last season, he appeared in only 14 games for Houston, serving mainly as a reserve center.
Despite his limited playtime, Marjanovic is known for his positive impact in locker rooms and his ability to contribute effectively when given the chance, thanks to his impressive height of 7’4″.
As teams evaluate their needs during training camps, there is a possibility that Marjanovic could be signed as a depth player for a center position. However, he is not anxious about the outcome and is prepared to consider opportunities in Europe if an NBA contract does not materialize. For now, he is content to wait and see how the situation unfolds.
