Brad Marchand had a goal and an assist as the Boston Bruins got back at the Philadelphia Flyers with a 3-0 win on the road on Saturday.

Joonas Korpisalo made 20 saves to earn his fifth career shutout, and this was his first since April 10, 2023, when he blanked the Vancouver Canucks while playing for the Los Angeles Kings.

Matthew Poitras and Justin Brazeau also scored for Boston, which had struggled recently, losing five of its last six games, including a 2-0 home shutout against Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Samuel Ersson started as the goalie for the Flyers but left early in the first period due to an undisclosed injury. Philadelphia had won three of its last four games, including the earlier victory in Boston, which was their first road win over the Bruins in more than 13 years.

In this game, the Bruins took a 1-0 lead at 13:28 of the first period. Hampus Lindholm shot the puck from the blue line, and it bounced off the end board back near the crease. Poitras managed to chip the puck past Aleksei Kolosov for his first goal of the season.

Brazeau scored his third goal of the season, all in the last five games, to make it 2-0 midway through the second period. Marchand controlled the puck behind the net while fending off a defender and then passed it to Brazeau, who fired it past Kolosov.

Korpisalo made some great saves, including one against Morgan Frost during a 2-on-1 break when Owen Tippett got past the defense and set up Frost for a close shot.

Marchand scored an empty-net goal with 3:39 left in the game to secure the win.

Kolosov had 20 saves after coming in for Ersson, who made eight saves before leaving. Philadelphia was unsuccessful on three power-play chances and had 15 turnovers during the game. The Flyers out-hit the Bruins 30-22.

The final game between these two teams this season will be on December 7 when the Bruins host the Flyers.
